I am Vaishali P Sinha, Bachelor of Commerce from Mumbai University 1997, Hotel Management Diploma from IICT Mumbai 1999, presently associated with Hotel Meluha the fern ( 5*) since preopening & Rodas (3*) an Ecotel Hotel, Hiranandani Gardens, Powai, Mumbai, as an Director Housekeeping. My professional journey has started with Hotel Midtown Pritam, Hotel Orchid, Hotel Le meridian & with Rodas An Ecotel Hotel by joining in the capacity of Executive Housekeeper in Nov’08.

Having 23 years experience in overall Housekeeping operations, Budgeting, hiring, pre opening operations, guest handling, creating customer satisfaction and memorable experiences, building customer loyalty, coaching, mentoring, training, development, relationship building, efficient team building, employee engagement, Critical thinking to recognize problems and identify solutions. Professional Executive Housekeeper with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills as well as superior time and resource management capabilities. Dedication to completing tasks on time and surpassing expectations. Able to excel in fast-paced high-pressure environments. Shortlisted by Hotelier India for Housekeeper of the year 2015 and by IDE in 2016.


I have been awarded with the Housekeeping Leader of the year 2017 at Hospitality Leader's Industry Choice Awards on 6th June 2017 at Sahara Star Hotel, Mumbai. Most promising Housekeeper of the year award 2017, National award winner for Housekeeping 2017 & Hall of fame for outstanding contribution in 2018. South east Asia, Middle east & Africa stood at 9th Position in the year 2020 among Power 25 Housekeepers.


I am the Founder and General Secretary of i- Professional Housekeeper's Association India, i-PHA – I- Professional Housekeepers’ Association, India - Is a professional and educational organization for individuals involved in or directly affiliated with Housekeeping in hotels, hospitals, facilities management and allied professions. IPHA is predominantly young. It was launched in January 2015. Learning, upgrading standards of cleanliness, personal growth, professional development of Housekeepers at the corporate level and connection to the hospitality industry worldwide is I-PHA’s vision.Having over 2000+ members across India . Associated with Asian Housekeepers association with 11 Asian countries. Vision is to provide a ray of channel for personal and professional growth and also build confidence among housekeeping professionals in the years to come through Connect, Share & innovate.


Efforts were recognized and felicitated by Hotelier India, BW Hotelier, Trinity event, Food Hospitality world & Clean India.


My Career Objectives are as below:- To bring my skills to the company where I can play an integral role in the growth of the company and where I too can grow, while facing challenges and implementing solutions along the way. To enhance my professional skills in a dynamic and stable workplace. To solve problems in a effective/creative manner in a challenging position. To assist in attaining the highest quality of cleanness for the hotel by assisting in the direction and coordination of the Housekeeping operation. To achieve the Maximum Operational Efficiency & Customer Satisfaction in Atmosphere of High Employee Morale.


What do you like about this industry?

The housekeeping department takes great pride in keeping the hotel clean and comfortable, so as to create a ‘home away from home’ for its guests. The aim of all accommodation establishment is to provide customers with clean, attractive, comfortable and welcoming surroundings that offer value for money. Nothing sends a stronger message than cleanliness in a hospitality operation. The housekeeping department not only prepares clean rooms on a timely basis for arriving guests but also cleans and maintains everything within the hotel so that the property is as fresh and attractive as the day it opened for business.


Housekeeping, thus, is an ancillary department that contributes in a big way towards the overall reputation of a property. It is rightly said that housekeeping is a 24 x 7 x 365 operation. It is the department responsible for the guest’s first impression. Moreover, if housekeeping efforts are exemplary, it is a great testimonial for guests to know that their experience will be as exemplary.
